Cargo Insurance

As the MOL Comfort reminded everyone in 2013, cargo losses can occur at any time.  The vessel's "back" broke and the two parts became separated, drifted apart and each eventually sank.

A vessel owner is only liable for $500 per declared unit on a bill of lading.  This amount is hardly enough to make a shipper's interests whole.

RELCO offers cargo insurance to protect your interest

We carry an open cargo policy that allows us, at a shipper's direction, to attach cargo coverage to any shipment, even project cargo.

With a little additional information, we can also work to secure an importer-specific rate based on mode of transport, claims history, and commodity.
